TSKB’s Energy Efficiency Vision

TSKB’s vision is to support the investments of private sector in the Turkish industry, to act as an intermediary for partnerships of foreign an national capital with the companies and to help the growth of national securities market. Within this context, TSKB offers financial support, consultancy, technical assistance and financial mediation services to private sector investments.

TSKB uses its focus on energy industry and its acquisition of international financing capabilities in favour of investments which increase the capacity within the frame of renewable and clean energy relying on national resources and helps all the investors in the energy industry for increase in national installed base capacity on a Megawatt scale

As the part of the same visionary appproach, nowadays TSKB sustains its mission in decreasing the energy costs as one of the most important components of industry inputs through capacity enhancement and consequent Negawatts which will be acquired through energy efficiency projects as an alternate to Megawatts on the supply side.

WHAT IS NEGAWATT ?

Simply saving by consuming less, i.e. by limiting the needs or Consuming less energy by using more efficient production technologies for the same needs 1 Megawatt = 1 Negawatt

Within this scope, it allocates the energy efficiency credits acquired from international sources in a project approach designed according to the needs of industry and service sectors. Energy density of our country is above the global average.

It is possible to decrease energy utilisation dramatically, which is a need for domestic income, by structural changes in the added value created in industry and service sectors. However, even when we maintain the added value combination in the current industry and service structure, it is potentially possible to save up to 20% in energy only through an appropriate project build-up and financing.

Country GDP (billion $) Consumption (million TEP) Energy density Consumption per capita (TEP/population)
Turkey 190,3 72,5 0,38 1,06
Japan 5,648 520,7 0,09 4,09
USA 8,977,9 2,281,5 0,25 7,98
Greece 144,8 28,7 0,20 2,62
OECD 27,880,9 8,970 0,19 4,68
World 34,399,8 10,029 0,29 1,64

What is Energy Efficiency Investment?

Any investment on process, technique or equipment in order to reduce the energy amount spent at the same level of or more production while maintaining or improving the time for production, quality, performance, workplace safety and environmental impact level is defined as Energy Efficiency (EE) Investment.

If we need to summarize with a single sentence, it would be: "the investment which enables the company to perform its current production with less energy through a current/planned project is EE investment."
