A New USD 40 Million Loan from TSKB and Entek Elektrik
TSKB signed a new USD 40 million loan agreement with Entek Elektrik Üretimi A.Ş. The loan will be used for the commissioning of Büyükkışla Wind Power Plant with Storage Project planned to be established in Şereflikoçhisar district of Ankara.
TSKB CEO Ozan Uyar has stated that the financing plays an important role in increasing Türkiye's renewable energy capacity, strengthening energy supply security and contributing to sustainable energy targets. Through this financing, which will have a 7-year maturity, Entek Elektrik's 99.9 MWe WPP and 121 MWh energy storage facilities will be realized.
TSKB (Industrial Development Bank of Türkiye) and Entek Elektrik Üretimi A.Ş. ("Entek Elektrik") signed a loan agreement totaling USD 40 million to support Büyükkışla Wind Power Plant with Storage (Büyükkışla WPPS) investments in Şereflikoçhisar, Ankara. The loan, which will cover Entek Elektrik's 99.9 MWe WPP and 121 MWh energy storage facility (ESF) projects, will have a 7-year maturity.
Stating that Büyükkışla WPPS investment, for which preliminary license approval has been obtained with a commitment to build a storage facility and the development process is going on, is an important step towards increasing Türkiye's renewable energy capacity and supporting sustainable energy targets, Ozan Uyar, TSKB CEO, said: "Since 2002, we have provided financing support to many renewable energy projects in Türkiye through our medium and long-term resources. Via this agreement signed with Entek Elektrik, we have taken another important step in sustainable energy transformation by taking our support for renewable energy power plants with storage even further. With an installed capacity of 99.9 MWe and an energy storage capacity of 121 MWh, we aim for this project to contribute to the energy supply security of our country, as well as creating a sustainable model in renewable energy generation. In the upcoming period, we will continue to contribute to the multi-faceted and inclusive development goals of our country under long-term collaborations in this field."
Stating that they are very proud of this financing, which is of great importance for the finalization of one of the pioneering projects in Türkiye's energy transformation, Entek Elektrik General Manager Bilal Tuğrul Kaya said, "Entek Elektrik will not only generate renewable energy with Büyükkışla Wind Power Plant with Storage, but will also strengthen energy supply security and make a significant contribution to grid flexibility thanks to its storage technology. This power plant integrated with a storage technology will play a critical role in achieving Türkiye's sustainable energy targets by stabilizing fluctuations in energy generation. This investment is a concrete indicator of the vision and sustainability targets of Tüpraş, the main partner of Entek Elektrik, towards a carbon neutral future within the framework of the Strategic Transformation Plan announced in 2021 and updated in 2025. Thanks to this cooperation with TSKB, we will continue to launch environmentally friendly, innovative and sustainable energy solutions while contributing to the energy diversity of our country."
