ABOUT TSKB DEVELOPMENT DAY

TSKB, Türkiye's first privately-owned development and investment bank, has pioneered sustainable development in Türkiye for years and continues to work for a fair and inclusive growth. As development banks face an increased responsibility in the current process of green, technological and social change, also dubbed as the triple transformation, TSKB continues to create lasting value in environmental, social and cultural areas in addition to its core business of banking.

June 2, the day of TSKB's foundation, is registered as ‘TSKB Development Day’ with the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office to employ collective wisdom to grow the knowledge we have accumulated over the years and to carry our country to a sustainable future by sharing with our stakeholders the value we have created. We see this special day not only as the anniversary of TSKB's foundation, but also as a concrete expression of 75 years of hard work for Türkiye's multilateral development. We launched the TSKB Development Day Conference in 2024 with a view to transforming it into a key exchange platform with the participation of a wide range of stakeholders including the public sector, the private sector, academia and civil society on the path to Türkiye's sustainable development.

On June 4, 2024, the TSKB Development Day Conference was inaugurated at Conrad Istanbul Bosphorus Hotel under the theme of 'Quality Development for a Sustainable Future' and was well-attended by financial, academic and business circles. The 2nd TSKB Development Day Conference is scheduled to take place at Çırağan Palace on May 28, 2025.

Academician, Writer

As an applied psychologist, Selçuk Şirin use empirical research methods to better understand the needs of children and families, and to arm professionals and policy makers with this knowledge so as to better address the needs of the most vulnerable. The goal that unites all of his work is to enhance the lives of marginalized children using development in context as a general framework. He focuses on immigrant children in New York, Muslim youth in the US, refugees in Turkey and Norway, and students at risk in US schools.

He has published his work in top journals, such as Child Development, Developmental Psychology, Review of Educational Research, and Pediatrics, in an effort to inform scholars, practitioners, and policy makers about marginalized children.
