TSKB held a meeting for introducing the 'Sustainable Tourism and Innovative Renewable Energy Loan' it received from AFD

The Industrial Development Bank of Turkey (TSKB) held a meeting at Mövenpick Hotel Istanbul for introducing the loan it received from the French Agency for Development (AFD) for sustainable tourism and innovative renewable energy investments. Sustainable tourism and the benefits the loan will provide to entrepreneurs in the tourism industry were discussed from various perspectives.

TSKB held a meeting at Mövenpick Hotel Istanbul on 13 March 2015 for introducing the EUR 60 million loan it received from the French Agency for Development (AFD) for sustainable tourism and innovative renewable energy investments.

The meeting brought together investors and consultants specialized in sustainable tourism certificates for the purpose of supporting sustainable tourism investments in Turkey and raising the awareness of stakeholders about the issue. The concept of sustainable tourism was discussed from various perspectives and information and experiences were exchanged about the resulting performance improvements .

The meeting was attended by Orhan Beşkök, Senior Assistant General Manager of TSKB, who made the opening speech, Bertrand Willocquet, AFD Director for Turkey, Laetitia Dufay, AFD Vice Director for Turkey, Fatih Tosun, TSKB Vice Director for Real Estate Appraisal, Rıza Epikmen, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Turkish Foundation for Environmental Education (TÜRÇEV), Arif Künar, General Manager of Venesco Building Energy Management Consultancy, Simge Güzel, Marketing Manager of Accor Hotels Group, Nilsun Tümer, Tourism Investments Consultant and Faculty Member of the Department of Tourism Management at Boğaziçi University, potential investors and industry experts.

Orhan Beşkök, Senior Assistant General Manager of TSKB, shared information about the loan received from the AFD and said: "We think that the loan we received from the French Agency for Development to support sustainable tourism investments and innovative projects in the field of renewable energy is of great importance for the development of our country. The reality of climate change imposes huge responsibilities on organizations active in the tourism industry. For tourism to be sustainable, the environmental, social and economic aspects should be taken into account to the maximum extent possible in investments in this field. Moreover, the need for environment-friendly renewable energy resources and innovative projects that will increase our country's existing power generation capacity is continuously growing. We are glad that we will be able to provide additional financing to investments in sustainable development thanks to the loan we received from AFD."
