A leader in the Turkish finance sector with its innovative sustainability practices, TSKB broke new ground by bringing together the UN Sustainable Development Goals and library science.

TSKB Library was established in 1971 with the vision of becoming a specialized library in the field of economics. In addition to publications focusing on the world of business and finance, it also houses extensive collections in the fields of law, history, culture, art and literature. Today, TSKB Library holds nearly 14,000 books, 34,000 digital publications and nearly 100 periodical publications. Placing sustainability at the core of its banking model, TSKB now brings environmental, social and cultural development parameters to the field of library science. The TSKB Sustainability Books Collection, which became available to readers in the new year, will provide access to approximately 700 books on the UN Sustainable Development Goals and digital databases in this field. The Sustainability Books Collection, set within the TSKB Library, which operates at the Bank's Head Office in Fındıklı, Istanbul, is the first of its kind in Turkey. In its broad scope, the resources cover many themes such as sustainability, environment, biodiversity, clean energy, circular economy, gender equality, quality education, responsible production and consumption, sustainable financing and they include all SDGs.

Continuing its efforts to bring selected publications to our country since its establishment and publishing 11 important works so far, TSKB crowned the opening of its book collection in the field of sustainability with a new publication. TSKB translated Régis Marodon's book "Financing Our Common Future" into Turkish with the title "Ortak Geleceğimizi Finanse Etmek". The book draws attention to the relevance of the large development finance sector consisting of approximately 450 development banks and central banks around the world at a time when climate goals are becoming more important than ever. While underlining that sustainable recovery is only possible through mobilizing the finance sector, the book summarizes the codes for the innovative financing models we need as a world in a simple and fluent style, with engaging visuals. The International Development Finance Club (IDFC), of which TSKB is a member, also played an important role in the book project. TSKB actively participates in the "Finance in Common" summit, organized by IDFC for the first time in 2020 and held regularly every year ever since, bringing over 450 development banks together. TSKB is a signatory to the commitments focusing on gender equality, protection of biodiversity, combating climate change and social investment.

TSKB CEO Murat Bilgiç: "Making a sustainable future possible depends on our ability to transform our present "

Commenting on the TSKB Sustainability Books Collection and the new publication "Financing Our Common Future", TSKB CEO Murat Bilgiç remarked: "Making a sustainable future possible depends on our ability to transform  our present. As TSKB, we have been making important strides to this end for a long time. Now, we are happy to expand our TSKB Library, which has a history of over 50 years, with a rich collection of resources that will serve the 17 Sustainable Development Goals set forth by the United Nations. We take responsibility by welcoming people and institutions from all over the world who have produced important works in this field on our shelves. We are happy to play our part in making our esteemed business partner Mr. Régis Marodon's book "Financing Our Common Future", written in French and later translated into English, available in our country. This book, which gives the codes of new financial models that will enable the green transformation we need today, through case studies of development finance institutions, has an extraordinary structure with its simple style and engaging visuals. We are honored to start 2023, the 100th anniversary of our Republic, with the TSKB Sustainability Books Collection and a most important book translated with our bank’s contributions. We believe this collection will make a valuable contribution to our common future.
