Throughout 73 of the Republic’s impressive 100-year history, characterized by a series of successful development endeavors, TSKB has continuously played a pivotal role in fostering our nation’s economic, social, and environmental progress since its inception. On the 100th anniversary of our Republic, the Bank is implementing special projects with the motto “Bearing the Name of Türkiye, Walking in the Footsteps of the Republic.” TSKB CEO Murat Bilgiç said, “With the vision of upholding the legacy bequeathed to us by Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and passing on the values of the Republic to new generations, we are enthusiastically and resolutely continuing our 100th anniversary projects. As one of the rare institutions bearing the name ‘Türkiye,’ we take immense pride in presenting lasting contributions to our nation during this significant year.”

TSKB (Industrial Development Bank of Türkiye), an instrumental contributor to Türkiye’s well-rounded sustainable development for 73 years across economic, environmental, and socio-cultural realms, is commemorating the 100th anniversary of the Republic with a series of special projects guided by the motto “Bearing the Name of Türkiye, Walking in the Footsteps of the Republic.” Having taken a decision to expand its sphere of influence in the second century of the Republic with the goal of ensuring that every new investment aligns with sustainability principles and accelerating green transformation, the Bank has recently launched its second development hub in Ankara to further this mission. The Bank also extends TSKB’s influence to all corners of Türkiye through its centenary projects, which encompass a wide range of initiatives, including supporting female university students, reforesting remote areas, establishing school libraries in earthquake-affected provinces, and promoting the creation of artistic works.

TSKB CEO Murat Bilgiç: "We present permanent works to our country on the 100th anniversary of our Republic."

Commenting on the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Türkiye, TSKB CEO Murat Bilgiç said, “We are dedicated to upholding the legacy of Ghazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and transmitting the core values of our Republic to the future generations with unwavering diligence, determination, and enthusiasm. We carry the historical responsibility of having offered financial and technical support to the initial industrial establishments of our nation during the planned development phase of the young Republic. In a parallel manner to how TSKB’s support played a pivotal role in the production of numerous products that contributed to the country’s development 73 years ago, today, our Bank is leading the introduction of numerous innovative practices in the realm of sustainable banking within the Turkish finance sector. We are recognized as a reputable and trustworthy institution, both domestically and internationally. We shoulder a significant responsibility in fostering the growth and development of our nation by harnessing development-oriented global funds. We consider sustainable banking, an area in which we are pioneers in Türkiye, as a field that transcends competition, and we are committed to sharing our expertise in this domain with all stakeholders in the development process, thereby enhancing our collective influence in achieving sustainable transformation. We are also approaching the 100th anniversary of our Republic with a development-oriented perspective. As one of the rare institutions bearing the name ‘Türkiye,’ we are celebrating the 100th anniversary of our Republic by gifting our nation with enduring works.”

We are establishing Centennial of the Republic libraries in the provinces affected by the earthquake”

Bilgiç stated that, following the earthquake disasters in February, the Bank shifted its attention to the region’s development and that, after providing material and humanitarian aid to help heal the earthquake’s impact, they made the earthquake-affected region the central focus of the projects planned for the Republic’s 100th anniversary.

Bilgiç went on to add: “TSKB has an extensive library spanning nearly 50 years. We believe that books, which hold a significant position in our corporate culture, possess not only the power to foster development but also the ability to heal. With this perspective, we aimed to extend TSKB’s tradition of librarianship to 11 earthquake-affected cities. In collaboration with the Turkish Librarians Association and the Adıyaman Gölbaşı District Directorate of National Education, we inaugurated our first enriched school library at Adıyaman Gölbaşı Mehmet Akif Ersoy Primary School. We furnished our library with more than 4,000 books and equipped it with educational games, smart boards, computers, and electronic tools to enhance the intellectual development of children. Seeing the joy on the faces of children on the opening day reaffirmed our belief in the significance of this initiative.”

“We are crowning the 100th anniversary of our Republic with a unique composition that we will leave as a legacy to future generations”

Bilgiç elaborated on their decision to expand the social and cultural projects they have been consistently pursuing over the years in honor of the 100th anniversary, stating, “To achieve sustainable and high-quality development, it is imperative for social and cultural investments to progress hand in hand with economic investments. With this perspective, we have been providing support to young individuals pursuing various disciplines for many years, making consistent contributions to the cultural advancement of our nation. Through the From Training to Production Scholarship Fund, which we operate in collaboration with the Turkish Education Foundation, we provide financial assistance to female university students and offer a range of programs to help them launch their careers successfully. For this year, in commemoration of the 100th anniversary of our Republic, we will offer scholarship support to 100 female students hailing from the earthquake-affected areas. Additionally, we endorse the international education of exceptionally talented young female musicians through the ‘Women Stars of Tomorrow - Education Support Fund,’ a joint initiative with İKSV aimed at promoting equal opportunities in the arts. As we welcome 21 talented young female musicians during the 100th anniversary of our Republic, our total number of supported musicians since 2018 has now reached 90. Through this project, we aimed to crown the 100th anniversary of our Republic with a unique composition that we will leave as a legacy to future generations. The world premiere of ‘A Piece to Joy,’ a composition by the talented young musician Cem Esen, took place during the Women Stars of Tomorrow concert, held as part of the İKSV-İstanbul Music Festival.”

“We will disperse 100,000 seed balls in honor of the 100th anniversary of our Republic”

Emphasizing that TSKB is the first bank in the financial sector to support reforestation projects through aerial seeding, Bilgiç continued his statement as follows: “We must take great care of our forests for a sustainable future. Regrettably, the impact of the climate crisis is becoming more evident with the rising frequency of forest fires. Following a series of significant fires, we initiated a reforestation project in partnership with the social enterprise, ecording. On behalf of our customers, whose sustainable development-oriented investments we support, we have conducted 150,000 aerial seedings using ecoDrones in remote and challenging terrain. We will disperse an additional 100,000 seed balls in honor of the 100th anniversary of our Republic. We will persist in our support for investments, social responsibility projects, and initiatives aimed at preserving our natural heritage, ensuring a future where our children can breathe freely.”

“In our second century, we are committed to expediting sustainable transformation in Anatolia through our Ankara development hub”

Expressing their enthusiasm for inaugurating TSKB’s second campus in the capital city of Ankara on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Republic, Bilgiç stated, “During the inauguration of our Ankara Development Hub, we visited Atatürk’s mausoleum with our Board of Directors, Senior Management, Subsidiary General Managers, and colleagues. In the pages of the memorial book, we reasserted our unwavering commitment to exert every effort towards raising our nation to the ranks of contemporary civilizations, in honor of our Founding Father’s vision. Starting in September, at our newly established office, we will be offering effective consultancy services that encompass all our subsidiaries, alongside our corporate and investment banking activities. For several years, we have been emphasizing the critical role of sustainable finance in addressing the climate crisis, and have dedicated our efforts to fostering greater awareness in this field. Through our new campus, which we call our second development hub, we aspire to establish ourselves as the focal point for regional development in Anatolia, propelling sustainable transformation with added momentum.”
