TSKB Inaugurates Two New School Libraries in Adana and Osmaniye

As part of the ‘11 libraries in 11 provinces’ project initiated in 2023 to foster equal educational opportunities and aid in the permanent recovery of earthquake-affected regions, TSKB expanded its library network to 5 by inaugurating libraries in Adana’s Yüreğir and Osmaniye’s Merkez districts. The Bank inaugurated two new libraries at Yahya Kemal Beyatlı 100. Yıl Primary School in Yüreğir, Adana and Gazi Mustafa Kemal Secondary School in Merkez, Osmaniye, enriching the educational resources with over 8 thousand books available to nearly 400 students.

As a commitment to complete the “11 libraries in 11 provinces” project by 2025, TSKB, working towards a vision of multifaceted quality development and a sustainable future, inaugurated two new enriched libraries at Yüreğir Yahya Kemal Beyatlı 100. Yıl Primary School in Yüreğir, Adana and Gazi Mustafa Kemal Secondary School in Merkez, Osmaniye.

In September 2023, the Bank inaugurated the first library for students in the Gölbaşı district of Adıyaman, named the “TSKB Centennial of the Republic Library,” marking the beginning of its initiative. Subsequently, the Bank expanded its library network to a total of 5, spanning across Nurdağı, Gaziantep; Pazarcık, Kahramanmaraş; Yüreğir, Adana, and Merkez, Osmaniye.

TSKB has significantly contributed to the personal and cultural development of nearly 1,400 students in schools located in Adana’s Yüreğir and Osmaniye’s Merkez districts by providing access to over 8 thousand books.

Z-Libraries represent a novel approach to libraries, providing children with an environment where they can effortlessly access information and engage in learning with enjoyment. In addition to their extensive book collections, Z-Libraries stand out for their engaging activities aimed at enhancing reading skills and fostering mental development. These libraries boast aesthetic designs and feature a range of brain-stimulating games, technological equipment, and educational support tools, creating dynamic learning environments for children.

In addition to our ongoing efforts towards long-term economic recovery in the region, we are also actively taking tangible steps to expedite cultural and social rehabilitation. We hope that the enriched school libraries we have introduced to Adana and Osmaniye, following Adıyaman, Gaziantep, and Kahramanmaraş, will greatly benefit children. Witnessing the excitement and joy in the eyes of our children in the cities where we open our libraries is an indescribable source of hope and happiness for us. As promised, we are committed to swiftly introducing an additional 6 libraries to children.”
