Young Artists Receive Their Awards at TSKB 75th Anniversary Contemporary Artwork Contest

Results of the TSKB 75th Anniversary Contemporary Artwork Contest, initiated by TSKB under the title 'From Roots to the Present: A Future of Art' to support young people's artistic productions, have been announced. The young artists whose works were selected as a result of the jury evaluation received their awards at the ceremony held at the headquarters of the bank in Istanbul. Speaking at the ceremony, TSKB CEO Ozan Uyar said: "In this meaningful year, when we celebrate the 75th anniversary of our Bank, young people from all over Türkiye applied to our TSKB 75th Anniversary Contemporary Artwork Contest, which we launched to bring new works of art to our country and to support young artists in their lifelong learning journey by encouraging them to produce. I sincerely congratulate all our young artists who participated in our contest and wish them continued success in their artistic journey."

Results of the TSKB 75th Anniversary Contemporary Artwork Contest organized by TSKB (Industrial Development Bank of Türkiye) under the theme 'From Roots to the Present, A Future of Art' have been announced. The students who created 30 artworks selected as a result of the jury evaluation received their awards at a special ceremony held at the bank's headquarters in Istanbul. The ceremony was attended by representatives from the circles of art, academia and business, the contest jury, the young artists whose works were included in the contest and TSKB executives.

After the completion of the application process for the contest, the works were evaluated by the selection committee consisting of experts in their fields. The jury consisted of Prof. İdil Akbostancı, who chaired the jury and curated the exhibition, Prof. Ceren Bulut Yumrukaya, Prof. Gül İrepoğlu, Haluk Sicimoğlu, Prof. Neslihan Pala, Prof. Sevil Saygı and Yalçın Savuran. In addition to artistic originality and technical competence, the conceptual connection of the works with the theme of the contest and the innovative vision of a sustainable future were the main criteria for the evaluation of the works.

Sevda Uyar from Karamanoğlu Mehmetbey University, Faculty of Art, Design and Architecture, Department of Painting received the Jury's Special Award, while Hatice Akkuş from Akdeniz University, Institute of Fine Arts, Department of Painting received the TSKB Special Award. 

During his speech, TSKB CEO Ozan Uyar emphasized the role of art in multidimensional development and said: "For 75 years, we have been actively contributing to Türkiye's multidimensional development journey and striving to move our country forward towards a sustainable future with the links we have established between people, nature, society and culture. We are very happy to reach more and more young people day by day through our projects focusing on education and arts that we have been carrying out for many years. Thanks to this meaningful project, we have reached nearly 600 university students from 60 provinces of Türkiye. We believe that supporting the creative potential of young people is critical to Türkiye's development vision."

Prof. İdil Akbostancı, Jury Chair & Exhibition Curator of the TSKB 75th Anniversary Contemporary Artwork Contest, said: "This valuable competition has offered our young artists the opportunity to have their productions professionally filtered and to share their creative visions with a wider audience. While evaluating the works, we took as basis the conceptual depth as well as artistic originality and the connection established with the theme 'From Roots to the Present, A Future of Art'. This door opened by TSKB will not only be a reward but also a very strong source of motivation for our young artists on their artistic journey."
